I just moved to Jacksonville and needed a dermatologist ASAP for severe skin issues that are affecting my day to day life. I called to schedule my first appointment, which they confirmed my insurance and said I was good to go. I was seen twice by a doctor by the name of Emily, she was so nice, caring and helpful and I was excited I had a doctor that cared since I had been struggling for so long. After my 2nd appointment, the girl at the front desk all of a sudden says “we can’t see you anymore, we don’t take your insurance”. I was shocked, because why are you telling me this after you’ve seen me twice already? I work in prior authorization, so I know before we can see any patients we HAVE to make sure we’re in network with their insurance, and have to get an approval before they’re seen to prevent things like that so it was pretty irresponsible in my opinion on their end. I was crushed because my condition has been ruining my life and now I’m left with no doctor, no recommendations. They call me a week later to invite me to a special event where the doctors have patients with complex skin issues in to be evaluated by more than 1 doctor, and come up with a plan for the patient. Insurance did not need to cover because it wasn’t an actual appointment. I was so excited and wrote down “Friday February 6th” on my calendar, right as she told me so I wouldn’t forget. I know 100% she told me Friday. I call today to confirm I come in at 1, she at first didn’t know what I was talking about and then she said “oh you missed it, it was on Tuesday” I’m just sick of people in healthcare making me feel like I’m dumb when they’re making continuous mistakes and ruining patients care. Emily is an amazing physician, but the office needs to be more communicative with the patients.

Clean, professional and thorough! Emily the PA went above and beyond to complete a skin cancer check for me and explained everything she was doing. The staff was very professional and let me know about my insurance before the exam began so I would know of any out of pocket costs. The office is out of network with my insurance but they are worth the out of pocket cost! Highly recommend this office to anyone looking for quality care.

The $40 rosacea treatment caused a chemical burn all over my face. When I called to ask what to do about it, the first two receptionists immediately told me the doctor wasn't available and to try again another time. I did not ask to speak to the doctor, I only asked to find out how to treat the allergic reaction. A third receptionist suggested I stop use of the cream. Obviously. I called a fourth time and was able to get a call back from Dr. Anderson's assistant. She asked me to emails pics and acknowledged that it looked painful, but also suggested it wasn't so bad. I ended up having to take antibiotics to resolve it. The whole experience was awful because the doctor and assistant seemed genuinely caring at first, but were actually not available to resolve or follow up on the damage caused in addition to the condition that I needed treatment for.

The doctor didn't have any patience to listen to me and allow me to finish a sentence at anytime during my visit.No insight was provided. The doctor would just smile and tell me she was sorry for what I was experiencing but that's bs.She kept interjecting and talking over me so she could try to move things along and at the end she was just walking out of the room while I was still trying to speak with her.The visit didn't even last 5 minutes so it's not as though her time was being wasted.I did have an appointment. Ive never run into such incompetence as I have here in Jacksonville with the doctors I visit. Im probably going to have to leave this area in order to get some real medical attention.

I experienced the same thing that Joe Smith commented on 3 months ago. Kalyn is curt & dismissive. You are just a number to her & not compassionate.
