I absolutely love James River Family Dentistry! Every person I have interacted with there for the two years I have been a patient has been incredible. They truly care about their patients. It took me a while to find a dentist I liked as well as trusted, and I am so fortunate coworkers recommended this one. I’m never going anywhere else!

I’ve always been someone who gets pretty anxious about going to the dentist, so a good hygienist makes a HUGE difference for me. Today was my first time seeing Arati and she was fantastic. She was so gentle & calm which immediately put me at ease :) She’s very knowledgeable and explains what she is doing and the why. She was so thorough with my cleaning too!! The interaction between hygienist and doctor is so important too, and I could tell Dr. Guthrie & Arati make a great team! If you’re someone who gets nervous about dental appointments like I do, Arati is the one you want. Thank you Arati & Dr. Guthrie look forward to seeing you soon!

This place will make you look forward to going to the dentist… really! I’ve been going here for years and it’s always so professional and personable, they truly make you feel like you’re taken care of. Jessica the business manager walked me through my new insurance benefits when I started a new position, which allowed me to get a new night guard for FREE because of her thorough look into it! Dr. Guthrie is always very detail oriented and makes sure my teeth are in tip top shape. The dental hygienist Arati is absolutely fantastic, and helped me find a dental care routine that works perfectly for me. She meets patients where they are at while still giving great dental advice. I saw her today and she really brightened my day while also being extremely thorough and helpful. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!

People ask why I travel 100+ miles for a dental appointment. Because JRFD is the best in Virginia! I am grateful for their patience with me. The administrative staff, dental assistants and hygienists are exceptional. While always the highest level of professionalism, JRFD has a welcoming environment. I always feel confident and relaxed. Where most dental offices will increase your blood pressure. JRFD lowers mine. Above all, Dr. Guthrie is a joy, and the best in her field. She sets the tone of professionalism and caring for her office staff. Truly grateful for JRFD!

Picked this dentistry out of recommendation, it’s really great. Soon as I walked in I was greeted by two adorable pups! It was great working with them, they were very thorough and thoughtful through my whole appointment. Staff is great!
