Awaken, A Day Spa

A gift!!! It turned into an INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! The venue is welcoming, calming as you enter. The staff very respectful and friendly. My masseuse was Yvette, she asked what I wanted from my time, she listened intently and delivered with quiet strength and masterful technique! I enjoyed hot stones and (for the first time) cupping-HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Next across the hall tor a very enjoyable and informative mini facial with Sidney. I left the venue feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, again, HIGHLY RECOMMEND AWAKEN!!!

I visited awaken for the first time after doing extensive research about spas in Richmond, and decided I absolutely had to see what the hype was about. I booked a 60 minute massage and I was very curious about Microchanneling after learning more about it from awaken’s website. In short: Deya was able to effectively resolve my common pain points with care. The pressure was never too intense. Sidney is extremely knowledgeable about her craft. She can explain how and why certain techniques work, and she quickly put me at ease about trying Microchanneling! Awaken’s approach to the client experience sets it a bar above any other day spa I’ve been to, and I highly recommend giving it a try! My massage was with Deya. Her ability to focus in on the exact problem areas I deal with regularly was incredible! She was able to gently loosen knots that typically take multiple sessions to work through, I was very impressed. Deya’s energy is incredibly soothing, too. I thoroughly enjoyed the massage! I loved that the aromatherapy, hot towels and hot stones were included, not paid add ons. I opted out of cupping, but that’s also a no charge option if you’re interested. I’ll admit I was a tad nervous about the microchanneling. I thought it might hurt. I was happily surprised to find it wasn’t the least bit painful. Sidney did a really good job of answering questions and making me feel comfortable before starting the process. I did the hairline treatment for some tension related hair loss from constantly pulling my hair back into a bun or ponytail. At 30 years old, it gave me some confidence back very quickly over something that I was self conscious of. I noticed a difference about a week later - hair obviously takes a little longer to grow in. But I also noticed that the skin along my hairline felt and looked healthier from the treatment. It’s been a few weeks now, and my entire hairline is fuller and healthier than before. I’m also due for my next Microchanneling appointment and I can’t wait! Awaken offers a signature experience that you won’t find at other spas very often. There is a level of care and respect from the staff and the owner that sets this spa miles ahead of any other day spa I’ve been to. The atmosphere is so calming that from the moment you walk in, you simply know you’ve made a good choice. Oh, and the up-front pricing and no tipping policy is absolutely the best.

Awaken Day Spa is owned and staffed with very nurturing, inclusive, and knowledgeable people. My husband and I did a back-to-back couples massage and facial, and both were incredibly relaxing experiences. I had a question about some products after the facial and the owner, Shannon, took the time to call me to carefully answer my questions. This will become a regular couples experience that we do ~2x/year. Finally, the no-tip policy is also ahead of its time by ensuring that everyone is fairly paid, and the products are carefully curated. Highly recommend!

I received a prenatal massage today from Nina and it was truly amazing. I have had a hard time resting due to sciatica , fibromyalgia and a pinched femoral nerve and round ligament pain. The atmosphere is so welcoming, everyone was friendly and it was definitely a great experience. I will be back to check out their reiki and get more prenatal massage from Nina. I did the 90 mins, wish it was more lol its definitely worth the price. This was way better than PT. Thank you Nina!

Booked a couple's massage with my partner. I booked online which was very simple. Prior to booking I called multiple times with questions and the staff were very helpful and informative (also no call bot picks up it was a real person!). Day of, we had Yvette and Madi, both were phenomenal. It is not very often I leave a massage feeling like they actually got any knots out, but my partner and I were both very impressed by the quality. The package we booked came with a lot of complimentary additions too like hot stones and cupping! An unexpected but welcome treat. I will certainly be booking again.
