Advantage Primary Care

I am pleased to have discovered Advantage Primary Care and James Detrick, PA-C. It has been an exceptionally long time since I have encountered a healthcare provider who has taken the time to thoroughly review my chart, establish a personal connection with me, and provide comprehensive explanations. The entire staff is exceptional as well.

Dr. Detrick, and his staff, are awesome! He is a doctor that thinks differently and has empathy for his patients that have been physically challenged. I have lived in many states, and have had many PCP's; none of them can compare to Dr Detrick!

I had a new patient visit with the PA. During the visit, I didnt think it was different from any other visit - regular assessment, asked if I have any concerns (which I didnt), talked about my diet and things I can change briefly. I have had similar discussions with my previous Pcp and all I pay is my co pay (which I paid in the office) A couple weeks ago I received a bill for $90 for a 15 minute "counseling session"! This is very upsetting because I didnt think he was offering a special service or anything different from what other Providers have suggested for me - exercise more, sleep well, reduce carbs... now I am stuck with this bill for my "counseling session" He also told me it will take about a month for him to get back to me about lab results which I understood since I also work in a busy Doctors office... but now, if I am being charged a special fee - then that is very disappointing. Had i known it was an extra charge for his time and basic advise, I would have never scheduled.

Dr. Detrick is thorough, kind, and funny and his staff is helpful and sweet. I have been a patient for a year or so and have had no issues at all. He is always on time and addresses any questions I have whether in person or on their portal -which makes messaging and scheduling super easy. I have recommended a number of people here because good care is hard to find and all of them say the same thing!

James Detrich and staff at Advantage Primary Care are the best! Honest, cheerful, and genuinely concerned for my health and wellbeing.
