Altitude Dental

I went to altitude dental to have my teeth cleaned, upon arrival I waited 25 minutes to be taken back by the hygienist, after telling her that I was refusing X-rays due to breastfeeding the dentist tried to tell me that “X-rays don’t cause any harm to your baby and don’t go into the breastmilk” which cannot be verified with research, after sticking to my guns and refusing X-rays they told me that they would not perform even a dental cleaning for me, I asked if I could sign a waiver to release any liability and they said no, but told me that they could “put a vest on you to protect you from the X-rays if you want to have the cleaning done” furthermore trying to bully me into having X-rays done after refusing multiple times. They refused me basic dental care despite my willingness to sign a waiver and not having any signs of a cavity (no sensitivity etc) I even said I don’t mind not having an exam if I can just have the cleaning and they refused. I called another dentist office and asked if I could schedule a cleaning without having X-rays done and they said “absolutely no problem, people do that all the time, we will just have you sign a waiver to release any liability”. I cannot the disrespect I was treated with at altitude dental and the bully tactics they tried to use to force me into doing something that I did not want to do. I fear that if I was not a healthcare provider myself I would have caved and gotten the X-rays despite my wishes. Completely unethical behavior. Do not go here if you want any sort of involvement in your medical decision making.

I purchased a dental cleaning through Groupon. The dental hygienist told me she wasn’t concerned about the concerns I shared about having a bad taste in my mouth and a portion of gums measuring at 4mm. She left after refusing to answer my questions. My gums continued to get worse so I went to a different dentist to get care and they confirmed I have gingivitis. I let Altitude dental know, had my records sent over to them, and they refused to reimburse me because I went elsewhere for care. I expressed to them that I went elsewhere because of how I was dismissed at their office. They have a good reputation but seem to be unwilling to reimburse when they mess up. Again, they offered for me to come back for care but I expressed I did not trust their judgment, as I was diagnosed with gingivitis less than a month after getting my teeth cleaned at their office. I would be cautious when going to them depending on what your needs are. Dr. Weaver refused to call me back to discuss this after reviewing my dental records.
