Evolve Massage and Alternative Healing

I’m 38 weeks pregnant with my first child and was gifted a prenatal massage certificate to Evolve massage. I called and booked my same day appointment with Tommy. The massage was very professional and relaxing. I will return.

I recently was almost immobile due to terrific pains in my neck and shoulder. This had gone on for four days. A friend told me about EVOLVE and said she highly recommended them. I looked them up online and liked what I read on their site. Especially liked seeing the background of the therapists and able to decide who might work for me. I got an appointment for the next day and went in to see Corry. I chose him because he had had years of experience working with Chiropractors and I regularly see one for back problems. Corry listened to what I was dealing with, asked questions and understood why I was there. He made sure I was comfortable with telling him how much pressure I liked and then he set to work. He seemed to know exactly where I needed the pressure and the relief. As he worked on me for that hour he said I may be sore the next day as he was working muscles and nerves that were very tight. He also showed me some exercises that can keep the muscles flexible. When I left, I could already feel a difference and by the next morning I could turn my head, my shoulders and had no pain! I have been pain free since my visit with him. I am now on Corry's schedule on a regular basis. He certainly knew how to heal me!

My daughter gifted me with a massage for my birthday and took a lot of time looking for the best place to schedule one in the Birmingham area. She decided on Evolve and I am so very happy with her choice! The atmosphere is inviting and laid-back. The staff and massage therapists are all very welcoming and friendly. My appointment was scheduled with Trinity who is AMAZING. I left feeling relaxed and have already schedule my next appointment. I would definitely recommend Evolve to anyone looking for a professional massage therapist who will focus on your needs and make you feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the experience.

I’m always feeling better when I leave this place! Ian has been my massage therapist for years, today I was in need of a massage and went with Tommy due to availability. He has magical hands for deep tissue and did myofascial work on problem areas. The results were amazing- freedom of movement and release of knots I didn’t know I had.

disclaimer: i’m not someone who leaves reviews (i think i’ve written around 5 in my entire life) but im about to write a novel about my experience today. everyone was amazing from the moment i walked in, but i’m fairly certain that Tommy changed my life. I have multiple chronic conditions and an autoimmune disorder that cause me to have widespread pain every day of my life. i genuinely cannot conceptualize the idea of having no pain. on a good day, my pain level sits between a 3 or 4 out of 10. but i’ve been in a horrible flare up since Wednesday morning, and my pain has been sitting at an 8 (for context, people who don’t experience chronic pain most likely would’ve been at the ER at around a 6 or 7). I haven’t had a massage in years because i have a hard time justifying spending money on anything for myself that feels like it isn’t a necessity. on top of that, the massages i have had in the past have been great but haven’t relieved much pain, or i couldn’t stop overthinking through it (adhd), or i (SA survivor) was just far too aware of being exposed and alone in a room with a stranger. i was in enough pain this morning to book a 120min massage at Evolve with literally anyone who was free- and that human was Tommy. i was a bit nervous at first due to my prior experiences, but in almost no time at all he had found, with no indication from me. one of my most painful trigger points and spent intentional time and care slowly working it to release as much as possible. any time he found a particularly stubborn area, Tommy guided me through breathing exercises as he worked through the muscles and fascia gently but firmly. most importantly (remember, SA survivor) i did not feel unsafe- or even uncomfortable- for even a second. Tommy exuded respect, safety, and compassion to the extent that i was finally able to still my brain and body. i expected to leave this afternoon feeling 7-10% less tension and for my pain to ease maybe 1-2 points, especially because i’m in a flare. but… i walked into evolve today with my pain level at an 8/10. I walked out at a 2/10. as soon as i got in my car, i broke down and sobbed. i genuinely cannot remember the last time my pain level was that low. thank you for everything, Tommy. i’ll definitely be back when i get paid in 2 weeks.
