Dr. King and his staff are kind, professional, gentle, and efficient. He used the MOHS procedure to remove a basal cell carcinoma from my ankle. I greatly appreciated that Dr. King prayed for peace during the procedure, clear margins, and a speedy recovery before he worked on my ankle. It was a painless procedure after the first numbing shot. I went to the Vestavia Hills office which is a beautiful facility in a beautiful setting with a cafe in the building to boot! Mocha Latte on the ride home was delicious! I highly recommend Dr. King and I’m thankful to have been under his care.

Called on a Friday at 10:00 am (two weeks after MOHS procedure) left message that I was in pain and asked someone to call me before the end of the day. No call back! Called on Monday morning and left the same message. No call back! Called again on Tuesday morning and asked what the hell was it going to take for someone to call me back. Finally …. I get a call back. They asked me to take a picture of the area, I did. They said it looked fine. Told me I could take Tylenol and ibuprofen for the pain, keep it elevated as much as possible. I informed them that I can not take ibuprofen and the Tylenol is not helping. Now it’s five weeks since the procedure. I call on a Wednesday and left a message. A nurse called me back and she had to leave a message then I called her back. After doing all the prompts to get through to someone, I was disconnected! So I called back again…. Finally they set me up an appointment for two days later. Now keep in mind … Wednesday night I was in tears with a pain level of 10! Normal pain level is a 7-9. This entire senecio has been AWFUL! And it could have a lot to do with the fact that I had radiation for skin cancer at that same spot as the MOHS procedure just a few months prior. I go in on Friday for my appointment with a bag on pain meds left over from previous surgeries. I explained how I have been taking pain meds from 2022 and 2023. I also explained that on Wednesday morning I had visited my regular GP. He had called me in something for nerve pain. So when I see Dr Caplin, he suggested that I called my GP back to see if he will give me a higher Mg of this medication . WAIT ……. Aren’t you the one that did this procedure? Why am I having to reach out to my regular GP for something to alleviate pain from a procedure that you did? It seemed like he could have cared less about the pain that I am in! He listened to me and said “well yes, it’s going to take a while longer to heel”. I guess I will continue to take pain meds left over from 2022, 2023 and on Monday reach out to my regular GP for a higher mg of a nerve pain medication. This entire process has just left me baffled! I will say Dr. Caplan did his job in removing the cancer spot and I am thankful for that. But that is all the good I can say!

They have the most amazing staff. The front desk lady (I apologize for not catching her name) is so kind to everyone and helped make the sign in process a breeze. I met with Destiny and Dr. Zieman for a minor surgery. They were both were so attentive and professional that it felt like I was the only patient they were seeing that day. Thank you for having such a great team!

I was greeted at the door with a great smile. I was then given a tablet to sign in. Once completed I was called back immediately. I was greeted by ZAC, and he also had a cheerful presence. Each and every staff member I meet had an amazing smile. I was greeted by Dr. King, and he too put me at ease before he began my procedure. While waiting for my lab results, I could hear the staff. All I could hear was laughing and giggling. I have never been to any other doctor office where they made me feel that they were happy to see me and assist me all the way through the entire procedure. They checked on me frequently making sure I was ok. I am glad I selected the option of surgery instead of radiation treatment. I gave 5 stars only because there was not the option of 10 stars.

I was able to schedule three appointments for three different people in one day. I didn’t have to wait and be scheduled out for a month. It was very quick. Everyone was extremely nice. Dr. Grober was knowledgeable, kind, great bedside manner, attentive, and efficient. I recommend 100%.
