Waxing The City

My esthetician is truly a gem. Let’s be real: there is never a good moment in life to lie on a table and have hair ripped from places the sun has never seen. And yet… she somehow makes it comfortable, dignified, and even enjoyable. We laugh, we chat, and I recently introduced her to a new book series…so now we’re basically a tiny book club that just happens to involve waxing. She’s incredibly professional, insanely talented, and makes a potentially traumatizing experience feel safe and human. I genuinely can’t imagine trusting anyone else with my nether regions. If you’re going to suffer, you might as well do it with someone this amazing.

Great experience with first time leg waxing! Myeia was very helpful during the whole process and I will definitely be returning for more waxing!! I also bought a body scrub that feels and smells amazing!

The very first time I visited was a very positive experience, however I was unable to be waxed because my hair was not long enough yet. I scheduled an appointment yesterday for today, April 18th at 6pm. I chose "Any Cerologist" as my option because I couldn't remember the name of the cerologist I met the first time, but she was very kind and welcoming so I figured I wouldn't have any issues with any other staff; I was wrong. When I arrived it said I would be getting waxed by Breezy. I arrived to my appointment 30 minutes early, checked myself in, and sat down. About 10 minutes go by and a cerologist comes from around the corner, looks at me and doesn't aay a word to me. She rings out her client she just finished, rebooks her, and then walks away. As she's rounding the corner back towards the rooms, another client walks in and checks in. A different cerologist rounds the corner and greets her, looks at me, and just like the other cerologist, says nothing. She rings out her client and let's the other client knows she's just gonna clean up and she'll be ready for her. She rounds the corner and the previous cerologist returns to the front after a few minutes. A male client walks in without an appointment, and he's greeted and welcomed. At this point I was already uncomfortable as everyone else in the store was made to feel welcome except for me. I was side eyed and ignored for the over 20 minutes I was waiting there. I ended up walking out without getting my wax. I was there for a Brazilian, a very private, intimate, sensitive area, as well as it is not a cheap service to receive. I had never been waxed there before but it is closer to my job than my current waxing place so I figured it'd be a nice place to try. The entire experience was incredibly demeaning and uncomfortable. About 10 minutes after leaving, I was sent message saying I was checked in but they didn't see anyone in the lobby. I explained the same thing I have said here, and they tried calling to "explain the situation". I dont think there is any reasonable explanation that can be given as to why I was ignored and made to feel unwelcome. I already get dirty looks and judged often because I am a woman with a fair amount of tattoos and piercings, so I am typically used to the animosity, but this is supposed to be a place where everyone should feel welcome and made to feel good about themselves. This was a very upsetting experience and made me feel horrible. I will not be returning for this reason.

Zoe did an amazing job! I got the eyelash/brow tint and wax.. oh my goodness they turned out amazing!!! Absolutely in love with how fast and efficient she was. I will definitely book with her again!
