Aurora Gallery and Tattoo

Scotty is an amazing artist and he made my first tattoo experience so good. He brings the good vibes, good music, good company, and of course phenomenal art. He does such beautiful work, definitely check him out if you haven’t already.

10/10 recommend Scotty’s gotta light hand and he moves quick didn’t have to go back over a single line. Ratio was expected to take 2 1/2 - 3 hours I was only in the chair for 30 minutes and the turtle I got covers my entire left forearm! Tattoo also healed in 3 days which normally takes 5-6 days. Very pleased with the outcome and process of the work. Will be seeing Scotty next time he’s in town or if I get the time I’ll go down to anchorage from Fairbanks just for a tattoo lol.

Very positive experience for my first tattoo! Scotty took very good care of me by drawing my own custom design, taking the time to explain the process, and then thoroughly explaining the after care. He did a great job choosing colors and highlighting and shadowing the design. I waited 46 years for this and am very happy I chose Aurora Gallery and Tattoo for my first tat!

If you’re looking for a bad ass tattoo (of any style, look at the other reviews) from a great dude, look no further! Simply put, Scotty is amazing. I started this tattoo when he was still in Sitka, and just finished the chest and shoulder area at his new shop in Anchorage. The shop is roomy, bright, and the music is great. As others have mentioned, Scotty’s friendliness and professionalism is fantastic, you really do feel totally comfortable and like you’re visiting / talking with an old friend. Scotty is a cool guy and a talented artist. He took a simple line tattoo and made it into something I really love and am proud to have. The music he played during the session was rad. Lol. Clean shop and practices with enough professionalism to make me feel comfortable but not impersonal. Glad I took a chance on him and that he took a chance on me. I have his very first tattoo of 2026!
