Skin Cancer and Dermatology Institute - South Reno

Let me first start off by thanking the receptionist! Talk about great customer service that goes beyond, way to go young lady. This is what keep people coming to your business by that first encounter and you did absolutely phenomenal! Secondly Gabby the receptionist friendly, professional, warm individual this is the type of service that layers that customer service skill. Last but definitely not least. Dr. Jerika, compassionate, empathetic, concerned, focused and inquisitive. The cherry on the top this is what keep a business thriving. My issue is severe. I've been dealing with it for sometime now and it frustrating!! I feel hopeful being here. I would refer my friends and family to this establishment just on my experience thus far. Thank you all for the feeling of hope.

Pros: The clinic was able to get me in quickly when I expressed concern about a dark spot on my face that had changed. I was moved from the waiting room to the exam room Dr. Lisa Zaleski-Larsen was well recommended by a close friend. I liked her because she apologized for my wait, was friendly, and put me at ease. The medical assistant was also friendly and concerned about my comfort. Con’s: I had to wait about 10 minutes after my appointment time to be called into an exam room and almost another 10 minutes in the exam room in the paper gown, which was nerve wracking. My head-to-toe exam, although thorough, seemed very rushed. The doctor removed a couple of moles and treated a pre-cancerous spot, which I was grateful for, but she had no time to discuss other issues with me because she had a surgery scheduled. Due to her friendly demeanor, my belief was that the doctor was behind schedule, over scheduled or both. After looking at other reviews, it appears that rushing through appointments is a pattern and follow up appointments are required for multiple concerns. I was very disappointed that I did not have more time with the doctor considering this was an initial new patient exam. Add to that the drive time from Truckee and 3+ hours missed work, it was frustrating. I was also told that if I didn’t get a phone call with the results on the tissue removed that I needed to call the office. To top things off, I was dismayed to be informed that Dr. Larsen will be leaving the clinic, so I have to find another provider for my 1-year follow up.

Do you want the truth, or just answers? Truth....no one questioned me about shampoos or soap I've been using....or lotion. I felt as through I was a bother. I pointed out my worrisome spots....those were very quickly frozen and then both the skin doctor and helper were gone, out the door. No follow up, as what to expect. How to care for the healing process......and yes, late last year I had had the same worrisome spots frozen, this visit doctor said to check back in 3 months, then maybe then test for skin cancer? The frozen spots, one larger than last year, seeped. No instruction.... I just kept it dry and that one and others crusted over and hopefully will heal just fine. Geez....

Very good network of offices across Reno with very good staff and receptionists. Dr Stadler did my in-office surgery 1 year ago and has been very proactive in searching for anything else - he is excellent. Sierra was also very helpful with my healing afterwards and helped me several times

My appointment was great. It was informative and professional. I highly recommend Jerika Bernard. She addressed all my concerns and made me feel welcome and comfortable. Her assistant was great too. I can’t remember her name (sorry) they were both great. 😊
