The Altar Spa

My best friend and I were gifted a day trip this past Saturday. It was absolutely amazing! It is located on a busy street but tucked away to a small and quiet area below the courthouse. We were greeted by a calm and welcoming hostess. She gave us a tour and showed us where to place our items in the locker room. April, if i remember correctly, gave me a full body massage that was so relaxing that I fell asleep 😂 After the massage, I felt so relaxed and then enjoyed a wonderful mani and pedi. I cant remember who did my nails but she was the sweetest! We were offered some great refreshments and a lunch. I definitely want to come back!!

If you’ve ever had a massage where you spend 75 minutes internally negotiating with yourself like, “Just get through the calves… you can do this,” then you know the struggle. That was not my experience at Altar Spa yesterday. My 75-minute deep tissue massage might be one of the best I’ve ever had. The pressure was perfect — actually deep without crossing into the “why did I do this to myself?” zone. Even my calves (normally the ticklish, slightly torturous part of any massage) were somehow magical this time. A few details that really stood out: • The oil — warm, unscented, and somehow absorbed without leaving me feeling like I needed a shower immediately. • The technique — when it was time to flip onto my back, they sat the table up slightly. If you’re a fellow face-down nose-drainer, you know the usual moment of panic when you turn over and suddenly can’t breathe. This completely solved it. Basically: thoughtful details, excellent pressure, and zero moments of silently suffering through a body part. 10/10. My muscles are grateful and I will absolutely be back.

I had the literal BEST time at the Altar spa today. I had a scrub & soak and followed that with a massage and it was AMAZING! I feel like a completely different person! Everyone was so kind to me and made me feel so welcome and comfortable. I cannot wait to hopefully go again sometime! This was well worth the splurge in spending! 10/10 recommend. You will feel so relaxed, refreshed, and just amazing!

Banks at The Altar Spa was absolutely AMAZING. He took the time to talk me through what type of massage would be best for me postpartum and really listened to what my body needed. I felt completely comfortable, informed, and cared for the entire time. The results were incredible. If you’re postpartum (or honestly anyone needing thoughtful bodywork), I cannot recommend him enough!

13/10 AMAZING experience! I had my pals in town and we did a girls day the spa, we all got massages. Maria at the front desk was a GEM and so were all the other staff members, so attentive and friendly! We all really enjoyed our massages and the facilities were very nice too. We lounged and chatted had lots of champagne and had the spa handle lunch for us. It was seamless and I HIGHLY recommend this spa!
