The Dental Standard

MY 1 star review is based on the fact I paid for a product and never got what I paid for in the end. Dr M is extremely nice. There is no doubt about that but I came to her office for a custom night splint after going to her for botox and had so many issues that I ended up giving up on the process. I could have gone to my local dentist where I would have saved so many miles driving(I am in Joliet) and would have saved more than half the money but Dr M seemed like she was so passionate and cared so much about TMJD. It started after they made my first mold and I told her it was way too tight not even slightly. It wouldn't fit over multiple teeth. This being a custom made product for my teeth that should not have been an issue. After multiple trips back to the office and a mouth full of raw acrylic( I will attach pictures of my guard after they drilled out the teeth and used the acrylic method in between the remold. ) they ended up taking another mold , took way too long for them to even offer to remake as it should have been offered from the second I stated it didnt fit, and the second time was still WAY too tight. I mentioned it again. It was so tight that Dr M had to let me force it on my teeth instead of her trying to because I was leaving in so much pain because of all the forcing. I couldn't eat for 3 days after one appointment because it felt like my jaw was dislocated from the amount of jaw pain. This should have never been the case. A custom fit product should snap in and fit your teeth properly. I shouldn't have been punished for their machine not making a proper fitting product and after the second time they should have made a manual mold of my teeth and not tell me it was either going to be too tight or too loose where it rocks. I told Dr M the new remold hurt my teeth so bad she told me to work through it and my mouth would get used to it. I gave up after this and just never wore the guard. It has been sitting in its case since my last appointment. It shouldn't fit my teeth so tight that it has to be forced in and then I can't even bite on food for multiple days from the pain. I did everything right. I paid the money up front, I went and paid for a permanent retainer vs my regular top retainer because Dr M said it would be best so the plastic retainer didnt get in the way of my bottom splint and I trusted her and she let me down big time. I cried after multiple appointments to my husband because I didnt feel listened to. Like she was ready for me to be out of there hair. I literally sold my business sublimation printer to pay for this and my permanent retainer because I am in so much pain and to this day I am in so much pain because I still can't wear the splint.

This place is outstanding—beautifully designed, spacious, and equipped to the highest standards. What truly sets it apart, though, is working with Dr. Vlad. He is clearly passionate about his work, deeply knowledgeable, and consistently up to date with the latest developments. I also truly appreciate the generosity with time—he takes real care to explain treatments clearly and track progress thoughtfully over time. You genuinely feel in good hands here. I’ve become a regular and it has everything to do with the care, patience, and true artistry Dr. Vlad brings to his profession. Highly recommended.

I’ve been getting Botox here from Dr. Vlad for several years now. I’ve never found a better price anywhere, and Dr. Vlad is definitely the best administrator of Botox that I’ve had. Never any bruises, never any welts, which I have had with other providers. They have a new receptionist who is delightful and competent and they actually have a free parking lot area in the alley, which is sometimes hard to get into but it’s there! Zero complaints and Dr. Vlad has a very nice and approachable bedside manner.

My experience at The Dental Standard was exceptionally pleasant and welcoming from start to finish. As soon as I arrived, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and made me feel comfortable in the office. Everyone was not only friendly but also incredibly helpful, ensuring that all my questions were answered and that I understood the process. Dr. Val was particularly impressive; he took the time to explain each step of the service in detail, making sure I felt informed and at ease. His professionalism and knowledge gave me confidence in my treatment. Overall, I left feeling satisfied and appreciative of the care I received.

Dr. Vlad and team were great! The level of dental care from Dr.Vlad was outstanding. He is extremely knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable. This was my first visit, and I will definitely be returning for future services!
