My review is based on my treatment with Melissa. I just came back from my follow-up, and I’m so disappointed. Here’s the story. I’ve had tox for over five years now, but I was growing tired of traveling to Hinsdale, where my excellent MD was, so I decided to find a local place. After searching and reading reviews, I scheduled an appointment at Solana. The place is immaculate - clean, cute decor, amazing first impression. Melissa was late, not great, but not terrible. Then, I’m taken into the treatment room. Melissa wasn’t warm or particularly welcoming; she very robotically starts her questions: if I had tox before, what type, when was the last time - all things I had already throughly replied in the pre-treatment paperwork. Still, I answered everything. Then she went on taking pictures and looking at my face. Then she gave me her recommendation and price - 50 units of Dysport for $600. I asked about first timers discount (which I saw in their website), and the answer was a little scoff, then she reluctantly says I could have 10% off. I have to say here’s when I felt a little uncomfortable with her vibe - I did come straight from work, and wasn’t looking my best, and then “had the audacity” to ask about discounts. I there had a feeling as I was not wanted there…like I couldn’t afford it? Whatever, as long as I got quality treatment, I decided to go on. Huge mistake. Melissa over dosed me. Two weeks in and I was so frozen and expressionless I started having headaches from my face trying to frown. But mistakes happen, right? I still decide to stick to my follow-up and chat with her, give her another chance. But she cancelled the two weeks follow-up about an hour before my appointment, BY EMAIL, which I didn’t see until I was at her locked door. Fine, emergencies happen, right? But she wouldn’t reschedule me until the following week - fine. Well, the appointment was today, and I open-heartedly explained how unhappy I was, and showed her I couldn’t even make the surprised or angry face due to the over dosage. I told her we didn’t really talked about how I wanted a more natural look, and even took accountability saying maybe it was my fault since maybe that’s not what she normally did and I didn’t speak up… She answers with a little smile saying “the good thing is the effects will fade in three weeks. There’s really nothing I can do, but I will make a note into your file.” And that’s it. No apologies, no offer to compensate me or regain my trust in any way. How could I possibly come back after this? Maybe that’s what she really hoped? Maybe I’m not her type of clientele? I’m still here thinking how my experience could have been so contrasting to the other reviewers… but I had to come in to finally speak up and say I would not recommend her as a tox applicator to anyone, especially timid first timers or anyone looking for a natural look - I really don’t think that’s her expertise. Are you looking for a very frozen look? She’s your girl. Lastly, I do want to add she’s not a doctor and Solana has no doctors on staff, if that makes a difference for you when it comes to med spas.

Amazing service and such a beautiful and clean space! Jessica is OUTSTANDING! She explained options, and we landed on a Moxi treatment for my face. She COMPLETELY explained the process, and I was so pleased with the results, that I am now going back for my third treatment! Second one showed more results than the first!!
