Pinecone Dental Care

Every experience I have had with pinecone Dental has been excellent. As a person with a history of horrific dental experiences in the past, I cannot express in strong enough terms how much I appreciate the personable, professional, and talented people at Pinecone. I recommend them with my highest regard.

I was an existing patient when Dr. Zhu took over and have never been anything but extremely happy with my visits and care. Jen is an outstanding hygienist and always makes a mundane task pleasant. I appreciate the dedication to staying current with the most effective treatment modalities and quality of work. My wife and I moved farther away but are happy to make the drive to continue being patients. Thanks to the staff for always taking such great care of us!

I’ve been a client for years and have always had great experiences. When I’ve needed anything outside of a standard cleaning, pricing has been very transparent and the dental work was great. As far as cleanings go, Beth is an amazing hygienist! I wish I could go to the dentist every week.

Finding a great and caring dentist can be hard. But I have lucked out because I found a great and caring dentist, Dr. Zhu, who also explains in detail his recommendations and why, explains the procedure and what will happen, and any pros and cons. I highly recommend coming to see Dr. Zhu and his team. The team is marvelous!

In the US there is a backwards tradition of having dental care be not essential care. This is one of many reasons the dental care industry can often be shifty and predatorial in ways that general medical care can not. I caught Pinecone dental doing double or needless billing at my expense. They wanted x-rays when I had them done recently. I believe they wanted them for the billing money. The in-house machines does them for pennies and an insurance company can be billed for them. I believe it is part of their model. ADA explicitly says you should NOT get x-rays more than every two-three years for non-essential reasons (search this). If you have an emergency, that would be an essential reason to get one. My appointment was electrive. My x-rays were about 10 months old. X-rays do have risk associated with them and have been linked to multiple cancers. I didn’t want the risk or bad billing look. It is a fact that people should not get needless x-rays. They got really upset at me. They told me that the insurance company requires x-rays. This added expense is not in the interest of insurance companies. Earlier Pinecone had asked for new x-rays when they were four months old also. I've been to the dentist 35 ish times in my life and have never been asked to do x-rays four months apart. You can NOT go here. You should NOT get endless x-rays. It is risky like radon gas is risky - admittably the risk is low and takes decades to manifest. Still worth avoiding (for me). There is liability for you if your provider is doing questionable billing. I am open to being wrong, but even if I am this looks shifty and fishy. I can’t be part of that. You should not go here. Also it was just to much up-sell for me - somewhat 'car dealership' like. And for what it is worth - I believe there are a lot of fake and purchased reviews on google, amazon and yelp. I am getting a little bit of that vibe with their reviews for Pinecone. Intuituivly it doesn't seem right.
