Lao Shan Massage

Really nice front desk and massage people. I asked for firm massage and got very light massage. I did the combo foot and chair. Very reasonable price at $70 plus tip for 30 min feet and 30 min chair. The foot massage was relaxing but not at all the kind of deep Chinese massage where you feel like someone just massaged your feet and helped to work out sore points. It felt like a light spa experience with piled up hands rubbing your feet. No knuckles or digging into arches or deep pressure. And I asked for that. Chair massage was similar. I asked for very deep pressure to the guy doing the massage. Very nice and I think he thought he was doing deep. But it was mostly forearm, long strokes over a towel and my shirt with no real digging into problem areas. I read the reviews and hoped for deep massage with elbows and deep pressure and someone who would work on knots and problem areas. What I got felt like a memorized pattern of gentle relaxing massage. Disappointed. Was hoping for something much more like deep tissue massage given the excellent reviews.

I just left this place less than a two hours ago and I really feel the need to leave a review. Key word is “wow”. I came in there as a walk in with extreme neck pain. Thirty minutes later, I’m walking out with no pain. If I walked out the building feeling like play doh, I can imagine what a hour message would have me feeling like. I will be coming here once a week because my job causes shoulder and neck pain, if you don’t keep up with managing it. So I’m so glad their prices are not expensive and gives me that chance to come here weekly. Highly recommend this place.

My chiropractor recommended Lao Shan and I’m so happy to have had a chance to finally check it out. Booked a couples massage for my wife and I, and we loved working with Jacky and David. They were very skilled, intuitive with finding and working out problem areas, and just overall very professional. Definitely worth a visit and we are looking forward to coming back soon.

I was absolutely delighted with this massage salon! The therapists demonstrate high professional qualifications and perform the procedures with attention to detail. The atmosphere in the salon is very pleasant and conducive to relaxation. I definitely recommend this salon to anyone who appreciates meticulous work and quality!

In response to the owner - I want to emphasize that the receptionist had to go BACK to the receipt history to see how much of a tip we left AS we were walking out the door- we were CLEARLY done with our bill. I had ensured the ticket was closed entirely- the screen said $0.00, meaning it was on a completely new ticket…This was so clearly not a “standard confirmation if you wanted to leave a tip or not.” Original review - The massage itself was OK for the price point, however, at checkout after we had already paid, the receptionist went **BACK to the receipt, saw that no tip was added, and then called out “you didn’t want to tip?” in front of staff as we were halfway out the door leaving. Last time we came, we grossly overtipped. I decided this time we weren’t going to tip because of that. Tipping is discretionary and should never be checked, announced, or pressured in a public way. This made us super uncomfortable at the end of our visit and felt unprofessional. I hope they reconsider how gratuity is handled going forward.
