Dr. William H. Young

Dr. Young and his office team are among the nicest healthcare workers I’ve ever met. My teeth were cleaned with perfect care and precision and the appointment wasn’t rushed in the slightest. They clearly value time and hygiene to the upmost standard. As an undergraduate student looking to pursue dentistry, he is an example of a great role model and mentor. I would recommend Dr. Young and his office to anybody.

Dr. Young is kind, caring, empathetic, and listens to all of his patients with thoughtfulness. He is by far the most knowledgeable medical professional I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. I can't recommend him enough for your dentistry needs. WHY Dentistry is the best in the business!

I wish I could give negative. I traveled to establish care with him as my general dentist and also so he could help refer me to UPMC and be involved with that while still caring for me himself. I thought it was the best of both worlds- I could see him in private practice for general dentistry and not have to do everything in an academic center. He was SO nasty and judgemental that I came to see him and clearly did not want to see me as a patient and I have no idea why. I do not deserve that and I did not do anything to him to be treated that way. He is one of the meanest, most careless, cold, condescending, nasty, emotionless, heartless doctors I have ever met. He discriminated against me for my medical/dental history for no reason other than he just doesn't want to be bothered. He is the reason I don't trust dentists and have zero hope. He truly should have his license revoked and should not have the privilege to take care of patients or teach since he refuses to practice his scope. He intentionally and willingly put me at further risk/harm by withholding MUCH needed care. I hope he is in my situation one day and that doctors refuse him care. He is condescending, belittling, judgemental, and rushed. He was judging me the entire time and grilling/interrogating me. I don't have to justify why I am coming to a general dentist, and he is actually harming my dental health by discouraging me not to come. He told me i "didn't have any dental needs" which is jaw dropping. He just wouldnt listen. I am supposed to not get dental care for the 8 years I have been in dental pain?! He made all kinds of assumptions, which is incredibly dangerous and harmful for patient care. To him, I am not worthy of general dental care/ I dont need it. He left me with a temporary filling on a root canal also, which has to be switched out ASAP. He barely gave me a half hour of his time despite driving over 5 hours (one way) to see him. He was absolutely careless about it and walked out. He is incredibly abrasive, cold, judgemental, unempathetic. He would not listen to any of my needs/concerns and kept cutting me off and refused to consider. His exam was 2 seconds. He. Doesn't. Care. Bottom line. This office knew my situation ahead of time and knew I was an out of state patient and they still treated me like garbage. He had his mind made up before he came in that he didn't want to deal with this. I don't get a choice. I dont get to give up, because if I do, it is permanent and yes I have thought about it and still am. A general dentist HAS to be involved and dr young knows that because he told me to go to another one for a second opinion- for general dental care- not specialty stuff. I shouldn't have to- you are a general dentist and are more than capable of doing my care but you are choosing not to. He breezed through my xrays and missed a whole bunch of things (they have been previously diagnosed and I had a cbct report he failed to look at, and he failed to take further imaging). Also, if he had listened, rarely have things shown up on 2D xrays for me and i required other imaging and bone biopsies. He was so focused on dumping me off as fast as possible. I had a wait to see him, and then I got out of there before my appointment was supposed to be done also, so you know it was super short. That infuriates me because of my travel and severe dental needs- how despicable and disrespectful and careless!!!!! I have so much care I need right now. He also doesn't care that I have all these missing teeth and am going to lose more with zero replacement. I am incredibly upset and cried a majority of my drive back and want to give up entirely. I am a human being and miserable and deserve general dental care just like anyone else even though you think it should be withheld from me. I am disgusted and hopeless and want to entirely give up and Dr. Young made me completely not want to go to the dentist at all anymore, so congrats if that is your goal because you accomplished that. I have zero desire or motivation and I want to give up entirely I am so upset.

Dr. Young and his team are truly the best in Pittsburgh. The office is welcoming, the staff is kind and helpful, and the care is outstanding. I had my white stains removed and experienced the best teeth cleaning I’ve ever had. Dr. Young explained everything clearly, created a thoughtful plan, and delivered amazing results. I couldn’t be happier and highly recommend Dr. Young and his staff to anyone looking for a dentist! 10/10 experience

I finally feel like I found a dentist I can feel good about and trust. Dr. Young is a very caring and very professional dentist. He was very patient and explained exactly what he needed to do to my tooth and why. His staff is so friendly and helpful! It took me a long time to find a dentist I look forward to going to! Thank you Dr. Young!
